Meet Murphy: Adorable Blue Pied French Bulldog!

Every week, we showcase one of our team or app member’s pets and how they are using Piko! Piko is the newest pet social media app coming to Edmonton. I work here at Piko, and I am super excited to show off my little buddy: Murphy!

Murphy: The Heart of Our Family

Murphy is an 8-year-old Blue Pied French Bulldog. He is the glue of my family! Murphy has a special way of bringing us together, even in the most unexpected ways. Just by being around, he makes an ordinary day feel special.

From the moment he was a puppy, he was a little rascal! He loved to find items he shouldn’t have and do laps around the coffee table while we tried to catch him. In his early years, he was a speed demon! If he didn’t want to be caught, good luck! Our favorite game was to give him something he thought he shouldn’t have and then chase him around the house.

Now, Murphy is more of a homebody. His back legs have become weaker, so he spends more time sleeping and soaking up the sun. But he still has his moments of mischief!

The Ultimate Beggar

Murphy is a professional beggar! He often positions himself right under where any cooking is happening, hoping to snag a sample. He knows exactly who in the family is most likely to cave in and sneak him a treat. With his big sad eyes, he works the room like a pro!

We do give him treats occasionally, but we mainly try to keep him on his kibble diet. Murphy has had terrible car anxiety since he was a pup. Even a five-minute car ride can be stressful for him, so he doesn’t leave the house much. Luckily, there’s a dog park not too far from our home! There, Murphy can play and socialize when he wants. He loves to instigate other dogs, trying to get them to chase him.

Usually, though, Murphy prefers cuddles in his favorite chair, chasing golf balls in the yard, and swimming in his pool!

Celebrating Unique Pets with Piko

We created the Piko app with the idea that every pet is unique! Although Murphy loves treats and ear scratches just like any dog, he is also different in ways only my family understands. Every funny habit makes him one of a kind. We wanted to create a space where those quirks could be celebrated!

For me, registering Murphy in the app was a breeze! The Pet Identification feature quickly found his breed and relevant information. With Murphy’s profile all set up, I could explore the pet community around me in Piko.

With every post, the built-in AI personality feature is tuned to Murphy’s. Since he’s getting older, I use Piko to give him a voice in the app with every post I make. It feels like a way to share his thoughts and keep a living diary of his adventures. When he’s gone, I will be grateful to have him memorialized in the app in a way my camera roll can't quite replicate.
